User:Anthony cfc/Welcome Template
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Welcome to the Wikipedia!Hello, Anthony cfc, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Before you do much else, why not have a look at some of these useful links?
Also, bear in mind the idea of "Talk Pages" - every article and user page has a talk page with it. This is where discussion goes on. To navigate to it, click the "discussion" tab at the top of the page. To leave a comment, click the "+" button at the top of the page. Another Wikipedian will answer it. To leave a user (for example, me) a comment, do this at their user page, which you can get to through their signature. Speaking of signatures, at the end of your post just leave four tildes (~ - a wavy line) at the end, like so: ~~~~, to automatically produce a signature and time, so everybody else knows who their speaking to! If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to leave me a message at my talk page, or just add the text "{{helpme}}" to your your talk page and another Wikipedian will come by to help you. Kind regards, |
[edit] Usage
To insert this message on to a user's talk page, edit the page[1] and insert:
{{subst:User:Anthony cfc/Welcome Template}}
This will automatically insert the template above (without this documentation) and your signature underneath the "Kind regards" section; you may wish to customise it - for example, change Kind regards to thanks a lot, etc.. and remove the forced line break so the signature is alongside it ... the settings above are simply my personal style.
[edit] Notes
- ^ Unless you wish for a headline along the lines of "Welcome to Wikipedia", which is already included in the template, don't leave a comment (using "+") but simply edit, and leave an informative edit summary.
