[edit] Fishman/Merman
Though this hasn't come up in the time I've been here, I would just like to note that Arlong is a fishman, not a merman. In the One Piece world, merman and fishmen are completely different species, as shown by Hatchi's Chapter Title Page Mini-Arc, "Hatchan's Sea-Floor Stroll". In that mini-arc, he rescues a mermaid, who looks like the typical representation of one, from being eaten, and later falls in love with a fishwoman, who looks like a female version of Hatchi. - Arlong is a Merman. He said it himself. I think that the defenition of fishmen and Mermen is similar if not the same. Regardless I think we should consider him as a Merman because thats how everyone in the One piece universe considers him, regardless of what speculation can be obtained from the miniarcs stories. --Guille2015 18:48, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
Arlong said he was a merman in fan-translations and the 4Kids dub only. The word used to describe his species in the Japanese version is "gyojin", while merman is "jingyo". Sigmasonic X 04:16, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Confirm This statement
It has also been revealed that if he had not been bribing Captain Nezumi to give him a low profile, his bounty would have been well over 20,000,000 Berries.
