Armor for Sleep is an alternative rock band from Maplewood and Teaneck, New Jersey. Lead singer Ben Jorgensen recorded the first ever Armor for Sleep songs in exchange for $100 at a nearby recording studio, playing all the instruments by himself, after leaving the band Random Task, in which he played drums. Ben and Anthony fired the drummer and guitarist of Random Task and asked Nash Breen, drummer of Prevent Falls, to join Armor for Sleep. Nash quit Prevent Falls and asked his cousin, P.J. DeCicco, also of Prevent Falls to come with him to Armor for Sleep.
The band was originally signed to Equal Vision Records and released their first two albums with them, but as of April 2006, Armor for Sleep are now signed to Warner Brothers/Sire Records.
A remix of their track "Remember to Feel Real" was featured on the "Snakes on a Plane: The Album" Soundtrack in August of 2006.
The band entered the Mix Room Studios in December 2006 to begin work on its third album. While it has yet to reveal a title or thrust for the concept, Ben is on record saying it will focus on real-world issues instead of the afterlife or dream world of the band's first two albums[1].
In March 2007, Armor for Sleep changed their website from being very interactive to having only a long video. The video consists of a computer at a desk in what seems like a bedroom. The screen saver activates and shows a very long message: "The bad news is we don't have any control. The good news is you can't make any mistakes." This is possibly in preperation for the release of their new album.
The new album is to be expected for a late Spring/early Summer release.
They are now on tour opening for Underoath and Taking Back Sunday.
