Talk:Asian Canadians
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I removed Russell Peters. He may look Asian, but he is actually a Mashpee Wampanoag First Nations of the Turtle Clan.
- I'm re-adding Russell Peters. There are actually (at least) two Russell Peters, and while one is from the Turtle Clan, he lives in Massachusetts. Another is a Canadian comedian who is of Anglo-Indian descent, and he seems pretty well known. In fact, his East Indian heritage is the basis for a substantial part of his material. "Asian" is not an ethnic group. Also I nominate for deletion. RyanRP 22:28, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Asian can refer to russians aswell, and anyone can pick it, someone from European descent whos family has lived in Asia for generations may consider themselves "Asian" (which isn't in itself an ethnic group Chinese, or Japanese is), and therefore any ethnicity could be considered "Asian". Also I suggest deletion. See White Canadian discussion for similar problem, brought on by many wikipedians. RyanRP 22:36, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
