Augher St Macartans is a small rural Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the south of Tyrone in the village of Augher.
Augher's involvement in football dates as far back as the 1900's when gaelic games were only beginning to progress and indeed only flourished due to the perseverance of dedicated individuals. Between the 1900's and 1950's there were many who struggled with the highs and the lows to bring the club to were it is today.
In 1957 with a great number of players available within the Augher area it was put forward to enter a junior team and by doing so a new club was formed thus Augher St. Macartans. Continuing from here with the hard work of many men and women and with the opening of Father Hackett Park in 1963 the club has progressed impressively and continues to grow from strength to strength.
[edit] 50th Anniversary
In 2007 the club is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a banquet in The Armagh City Hotel.
