Aviastar

The Joint Stock Company Aviastar is a Russian aicraft factory based in ulyanovsk. It replaced the soviet Ulyanovsk Aviation Industrial Complex and manufactures the cargo aircraft An-124 Ruslan and the whole Tu-204 family (exept Tu-214)

1992 - Reorganization of Ulyanovsk Aviation Industrial Complex named after D.F.Ustinov into Joint Stock Company ‘Aviastar’.
12.02.1993 - The first middle-range freighter Tu-204 with PS-90A engines was manufactured.
11.06.1993 - For the first time, Aviastar-manufactured passenger aircraft Tu-204 with Rolls-Royce engines was exhibited at the International Airshow in Le Bourget (France).
8.10.1993- Aviation Register of Interstate Aviation Committee issued to Aviastar the ‘Production Approval Certificate’ for manufacture of passenger and cargo aircraft of An-124 ‘Ruslan’.
29.05.95 - Aviation Register of Interstate Aviation Committee issued to Aviastar the ‘Production Approval Certificate’ for manufacture of passenger and cargo aircraft of Tu-204 family.
16.08.95 - The first middle-range passenger aircraft Tu-204-100 with PS-90A engines was manufactured.
01.10.98 - The first passenger aircraft Tu-204-100 with Rolls-Royce engines was manufactured under the long-term international contract with the Egyptian company KATO Aromatic.
13.10.98 - The first cargo aircraft Tu-204-120C with Rolls-Royce engines was manufactured under the long-term international contract with the Egyptian company KATO Aromatic.
By the year 2000, all passenger and cargo modifications of Tu-204 aircraft family- Tu-204-100, Tu-204C, Tu-204-120, Tu-204-120C- have been certified by the Aviation Register of Interstate Aviation Committee of the Russian Federation.
In 2001 Russian President Putin V.V. visited TU-204-100 aircraft (64020) on the International Exhibition "MAX-2001"
2002 – Aviastar-SP took part in Farnborough International Airshow 2006.
2003 – Tu-204-300 prototype construction was at the end. After being displayed at MAKS-2005 TU-204-300 was put to the certification tests.
2004 – TU-204-300, S\N 64026, successfully performed its first maiden non-stop flight to Vladivostok. Volga-Dnepr and Polyot airlines took delivery of AN-124-100.
2005 – TU-204-300 certification tests were complete. The aircraft was on exhibition at MAKS-2005. “VladivostokAvia” airlines took delivery of 4 TU-204-300s.
[edit] Works That Are Performed By Aviastar
1. Manufacture of units, aircraft and other appliances, framework structures by application of riveted, welded and other joints with ensuring compatibility methods.
2. Guarantee of machining total cycle of primary framework parts and skins including bicurvature.
3. Manufacture prepregs of fiberglass, fibrous carbon , organic fabric with varied binding materials and on their basis; manufacture of sandwich single-curved skins and bicurvature by use of equipment locally produced.
4. Manufacture of sandwich structure: skin-honeycomb-skin and adhesive film. The honeycombs come from fiberglass and polypaper.
5. Design and manufacture of test stands for various aircraft systems.
6. Manufacture of parts of ferrous and non-ferrous alloys through sand casting, metal mould, pressure die casting, precision-investment casting including die forging and open die forging.
7. Carburizing, nitriding; quench of steel, alloys (including high-speed steel) and other heat treatment types.
8. Various types of protective coatings: anodizing, cadmium-plating, chromium coating, galvanizing, paint coating of alluminium parts, complete articles and large-size units.
9.Any types of turning, milling, grinding etc.; manufacture of cylindrical gears and splined parts, honing and superfinishing of cylindrical surfaces in parts made of any steel and titanium alloys types.
10.Cutting tools, pneumatic tools, fullerings, precise tooling, testing fixtures; thread-gauges – ring gauges, plug gauges, heading tool; machinist’s tool (nut keys, cutters, crimpers); any accessories (machine accessories, assembly fixtures, mounting facilities, accessories for manufacture of composites, ones for bending, moulding of shaped pieces and sheet articles and ones for woodworking); pneumatic, hydraulic and test stands; manufacture of complicated, unique, special articles by use of NC equipment; dies (blanking, cutoff, bending, drawing, outward flanging and other ones).
11. Manufacture of moulded parts through flexible pressure by use of crank and hydraulic presses, stamping hammers; manufacture of body and wireframe parts for cars; manufacture of parts 14mm length by three shaft machines and ones 5m length by sheet bending presses; manufacture of parts of light-wall tubing from 4mm to 160mm (outward flanging is possible); manufacture of harnesses tips of pipes and slabs; manufacture of bushings with flange and without flanges of metalloflourine plastic; manufacture of strip copper and strip brass, sheet (Ø = 5mm…120mm) trough roll bending and multipass drawing.
12.Manufacture of long parts of rubber through extruding, variable structure articles of thermosetting material through direct extrusion and moulding, articles of thermoplastic through pressure die casting, long polymeric moldering and rigid profiles through extruding, rubber-fabric material and articles of, varied articles through splicing; coating by application of powder paints.
13.Manufacture and testing of articles according to the customer’s drawings, hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, hydraulic accumulators, jacks and screw pairs, accessories (tees, elbows, fittings, bolts, springs etc.),hydraulic distribution valves and light-wall pipelines (for oil, air and fuel feeding),shafts, pinions,flanges,couplings,disks ,optional equipment,arms and ladders,repoussage and other metalware;overhaul of buss and trolleybus bodies,spare parts of cars and agricultural engineering,repair of machine tools and equipment.
