AXN is a satellite television network owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment, which launched on 21 September 1997. The network is now spread across several regions in the world, including Europe, Asia and Latin America. AXN delivers 24 hours a day of action TV series, movies, animations and adventure-reality and lifestyle sports programmes.
There are several local versions of this channel as listed below:
- AXN Asia - Available in Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Macau, Mongolia, China, Vietnam and Papua New Guinea.

In January 2007, AXN was given a two month ban from the Indian government for airing the programme 'World's Sexiest Commercials', with the reasons of the show being "against good taste or decency" and "likely to affect public morality" .[1][2] This ban was lifted two weeks early on February 28, 2007 after AXN submitted an apology.[3]
