Ayer y hoy (English language:Yesterday and Today) is a 1934 Argentine musical romantic drama film directed by Enrique Susini and written by José B. Cairola. The film premiered on 25 May 1934 in Buenos Aires.
It is a tango based film, an intergral part of Argentine culture.

The action is developed at two moments: 1840 to 1852 and 1914 to 1934. The first part of history passes during the government of Juan Manuel de Rosas and refers to the history of love of a woman and a young Unitarian, spoiled when she is forced to marry with a rich federal. A daughter will be born product of that spoiled marriage. The woman will die time 1852 convinced of the love that professed that young person to him who fought next to Urquiza in the battle of Caretakers. In the second part of history they are the descendants of those personages who face similar circumstances. Other failed marriage, the one of the granddaughter of the woman with a man who leaves it quickly, to return when she, after to have suffered sets out to remake her life. Soon tahúr will enviudará when facing its husband in a game table another one. Released finally it will be able to marry with that which it loves.
