Baldwin Village, Los Angeles, California

Baldwin Village is a community in South Los Angeles in Los Angeles, California and centered around Hillcrest Drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
It is adjacent to the affluent African American neighborhood of Baldwin Hills, yet, it is one of the most notoriously violent places in Los Angeles, known for a strong tie to gangs. Alternatively known as "The Jungle", it is home to a majority of the members in Black P. Stones gang that is affiliated with the Bloods.
"The Jungle" appellation preceded its gang-related connotation once referring to the lush vegetation in the area.

Residents are zoned to schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Dorsey High School serves Baldwin Village.
