Bassano is a town in Alberta, Canada. It lies next to Trans-Canada Highway 1. Location is east of Calgary and west-northwest of Medicine Hat. It is connected by rail to both of these cities. A short distance south of the town is the Bassano Dam. The dam serves as a reservoir for nearby communities and for irrigation of the vast farm and ranch lands surrounding Bassano.
