Bentong

Bentong is both a town and a district in Pahang, Malaysia. The district covers an area of 1,831 km².It is located northeast of Kuala Lumpur, just across the main range, Titiwangsa Mountains. The original main street going into Bentong town has been modified to a dual carriageway. However, the part of the road which leads to Raub and Kuala Lipis had been upgraded.

As of the 2000 census indicates that Bentong has a population of 97,467 people. Bentong is one of the bigger towns in Pahang. It is similar in size to Raub. Bentong has many light and medium industries, including timber factories and food industries. Like Lee rubber factory and Lee biscuits.
This town is important place for trucks and trailers the pass by or rest for after moving timbers from forest to factory's like to Kuantan or Kuala Lumpur. All the timber movers like to drive pass the quieter road to KL. The road is by passing the hot water pool. the are all timer movers. because the road is had lesser traffic and many trees, not hot at all under the sun. They also don't need to pay toll fees. The new road is Karak Highway (Lebuhraya Karak) this road is the important road for tourist to going Genting Highlands. The speedy road for passenger cars is fast, its not suitable for Timbers.

The ice kacang, a popular local dessert of shaved ice served with coconut milk, red beans, corn, and other ingredients, and steamed food are popular in the Bentong district. Like a place called Sang Kee served food over 45-years ever my grandmother ate their food everyday when she is young. All the rubber tree land owner are poor in the outer side but they are rich inside. So that means you cannot read a book by its cover.
[edit] Chamang Waterfalls
This waterfall is located approximately 8 kilometers out of town. It is a scenic place very popular with the locals and tourists alike. The waterfall is easily accessible by road.
[edit] Hot Spring
A hot spring is situated along the "old" Bentong road which is along the river bank. There is also a smaller waterfall and picnic area along this stretch of road. The road mostly cross by lorrys carrying trees barks to Kuala Lumpur. The road is quiet most of the time.
