[edit] RE: Ben Gordon#Nicknames
Ideally the sources of these nicknames would need to be cited (they need to be a reputable source, too). As a layperson, as far as I'm concerned, these nicknames, although clever, could very well have been concocted by anyone.

- I've found an interview with Bulls.com where they discuss some nicknames namely Madison Square Gordon and Gentle Ben, I've add a ref for it. Now "Mr. Fourth-Quarter" seems to be a fan nickname more than anything, you can find a lot of blogs, fan forums, etc etc, where Ben is referred to as "Mr. Fourth-Quarter". Air Gordon and Ben Jordon I do remember hearing him referred to as both, during Bulls games on T.V. and reading it in the Chicago Tribune. I'll look in the Tribune's archives for them since I can't cite hearing it during a game on T.V. :P The rest of the nicks I have removed because I can not find a single thing on them online. - I've found a Chicago Sun-Times article where Ben Gordon is called "Air Gordon" no luck on Ben Jordon though I'm sure I've heard him called that. I removed "Ben Jordon anyway because I can not find a source to cite it with. I left "Mr. Fourth Quarter" in because of the various blogs and fan forums that refer to him as "Mr. Fourth Quarter". [edit] Phoenix
There's a reference to Phoenix Regional honors - should that link to Phoenix Arizona ? -- Beardo 03:18, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
- No I wouldn't think so, Phoenix, Arizona the Wikipedia article really does not have anything to do with the Ben Gordon article. You can of course go ahead and link it if you wish, I but I don't feel it is necessary to do so. KOS | talk 05:27, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Ready for GA nomination?
I feel this article is ready to be listed for GA candidacy, the only real downside to the article is the lack of images, which should not hinder it's GA nomination. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to further improve the article (besides the glaring lack of images)? KOS | talk 06:27, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Failed "good article" nomination
This article failed good article nomination. This is how the article, as of November 28, 2006, compares against the six good article criteria:
- 1. Well written?: Pass Not any major flaws I noticed, but as I'm not native English, I'm not very reliable on that.
- 2. Factually accurate?: Pass It is well referenced, although more are always welcome. (ie "Mr. 4th Quarter")
- 3. Broad in coverage?: Fail Not very thorough. This is the reason to fail this nomination. The article has too little information. What is there, is really good, but there could be more. Both seasons could have more descriptions, for example, how his team did in the season. Personal life sections and early years would be good too.
- 4. Neutral point of view?: Pass There are points of view about what is POV, but I think this is good. It states facts.
- 5. Article stability? Pass No edit wars.
- 6. Images?: Fail No image. You could use one with a fair use tag, I believe.
When these issues are addressed, the article can be resubmitted for consideration. Thanks for your work so far.
The article is good, what is there is good stuff. It just needs more to be complete. I don't mean make it featured, but more details about the player would be nice. I don't know the player, as I don't follow NBA, but you should know what there is more to him. Cheers and congratulations on your work and also on reverting all that vandalism.

- Thanks for the review, yes a fair use image could be used if one could be found, I haven't had any luck with that, but I'm always looking for one. I'll try and be more descriptive with regards to his career, but personal life and early years are not probable due to a lack of information. KOS | talk 00:42, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
