Bill Thomas Cheetah
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Bill Thomas Cheetah was a race car first built in the early to mid-1960's by well known performance tuner Bill Thomas as a competitor to Carroll Shelby's Cobra. It was built with some back-door assistance of Chevrolet on a small tubular frame and a thin fiberglass body. A fire in the factory destroyed the fiberglass mold and a new mold was never manufactured, leaving the remaining cars as collectors items. No official records are known to exist documenting the exact number of cars produced, but it is generally accepted that around 13 fiberglass bodies were manufactured and no more than 23 frames were assembled.
