[edit] Questionable Topic
Did Bill Nye the Science Guy actually had a topic on "Anal Sex"? It seems like vandalism to me.
- Yup, it was vandalism. The complete list of topics is now on the page. pbryan 05:38, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Petition
Should there be a mention (or even a link to) the online petition to bring the show to DVD for home use?
- im okay with that idea, isn't it already on homedvd? i rented one fromthe library once...?Spencerk 05:01, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Music Vids
Can someone list all the mock music videos he did? I'm wondering if he did one on Nirvana or Soundgarden or Pearl Jam, because it was the 90s and all.
- Actually, he did: Nyevana - Smells Like Air Pressure video at YouTube. Personally, I think that the music video list would be a good idea too, but that information is probably "hard to find, oh well, whatever, never mind." -- Lastusernameever 15:45, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
That would be kinda hard, there are too many mock music videos to count up. Thrawst 17:23, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- This would be extremely helpful to me, since many of these videos were my first exposure to the music being parodied, and I'm still doing research to try to figure out what some of the originals were. Right now, I'd be most interested in finding out what was parodied in the balance, locomotion, nutrition, patterns, probability, and computer episodes, as well as the summative "we're all in motion" and "there's science in music" compilation videos. -AndromedaRoach 02:25, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
- While I acknowledge technically these are parodies, I removed the word from the article, as I believe it contains baggage (usually parodies target the artist or the work). Yes, just using someone's work in a different way qualifies as a parody, I'm worried it may be misleading. I'm open to discussion on the subject; if it's contentious, I won't feel too strongly one way or the other. pbryan 03:01, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Why it came out in 1992
I think it's because this show replaced 3-2-1 Contact. In addition, PBS wanted only one science TV show on the air at a time. User:Jonghyunchung 19:10, 11 January 2007 (ETC)
- I've never heard this theory. This would imply that PBS went shopping for a replacement? Any support for this? pbryan 05:36, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Don't forget: in 1993, one year after debuting on PBS, "Bill Nye the Science Guy" premiered in weekend first-run syndication on stations that represents affiliations with NBC, CBS, ABC and Fox, as well as on independent stations that later became affiliated with the WB and UPN respectively in addition to PBS' weekday airings.
[edit] Kingdome?
Is the fact that the Kingdome appeared in BNTSG episodes notable, or at least notable in the BNTSG article? I'm thinking not, but am not feeling bold enough to remove it without another party to conspire with. pbryan 06:26, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
