Binney & Smith, Inc.

Binney & Smith Inc., headquartered in Forks Township, Pennsylvania in the Lehigh Valley, is a manufacturer of children's toys including Crayola crayons and Silly Putty.
The company began in 1885 by cousins Edwin Binney and C. Harold Smith. On January 1, 2007, the company changed its name from "Binney & Smith" to "Crayola". Executives commented that Crayola is a well-known brand, and that they were trying to give the company a more updated image and fuel future growth.
In 1984, Binney & Smith became a subsidiary of Hallmark Cards.
