Black Mountain Safety & Health, Inc. was founded in September 2003 by Jason Holloway. The primary focus of Black Mountain Safety & Health, Inc. is the production & resell of safety training videos & dvds.
Based out of Las Vegas, Nevada, Black Mountain Safety & Health, Inc. is a small business that is typical of most new businesses in the 21st century. The organization relies heavily on an extensive network of contacts, and outsources its non-essential services such as accounting, marketing, manufacturing, and order fulfilment, while focusing exclusively on content creation, its video production services, and the distribution of safety & educational training videos & dvds.
In 2004 the Discovery Channel purchased Aims Multimedia and acquired the rights to all of its education & safety training titles. Aims Multimedia had previously served as a manufacturer for many titles in Black Mountain Safety & Health, Inc.'s catalog of products. After the acquisition of Aims Multimedia was finalized the Discovery Channel dropped 80% of the Aims Multimedia titles that related to safety & osha training. This had a significant impact on Black Mountain Safety & Health, Inc. This event along with the awareness that many of Black Mountain Safety & Health Inc.'s customers wanted a customized solution for their training needs prompted Jason Holloway to reorganize its business model. In 2004, in the desire to serve its customers to the best of its ability, Black Mountain Safety & Health, Inc. began investing in the acquisition of a modern video production studio complete with high-end video editing computer, lighting & audio equipment. Black Mountain Safety & Health, Inc. now has the ability to shoot film footage in broadcast quality MiniDV format, and produce its own content using Sony’s top-of-the-line video editing & DVD authoring software: Sony Vegas.
Black Mountain Safety & Health, Inc.'s self-produced DVD/Video titles have been purchased by such organizations as Bayer Health Care, Northrop Grumman, Westinghouse Electric, University of Texas at Dallas, Medical College of Georgia, North Dakota State University, and the University of Alabama.
The story of Black Mountain Safety & Health, Inc. is particularly interesting considering its founder Jason Holloway. Jason eschewed the path that most of his peers followed, and embarked on a risky career as entrepreneur & media content creator. Jason began his first company, the Black Mountain Trading Post, upon graduating from the Univerisity of Colorado at Greeley in 2001. Within a few short years Jason Holloway parlayed the $2,000.00 loan he used to start his first business into a thriving microbusiness. Jason named his first company, and his subsequent companies, Black Mountain, in homage to his childhood playground. To this day the microwave, radio, television antenna that form the peak of that volcanic mountain function as a major telecommunications hub for the entire Las Vegas valley.
