Talk:Blitz
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There is a link under the Nazi Germany / Related Terms article to "Blitzkrieg". There is no article on Blitzkrieg, just this one on "Blitz". I think we need to think about how this should be handled.
Also, this article on "Blitz" made no mention of the London Blitz. So I added that. But I have a question--was the word "blitz" actually used as a shorthand for Blitzkrieg? Or are "Blitz" and "Blitzkrieg" two different things?
Finally, since there was mention made of a "Blitz" in American football, I corrected what it said, since it actually wasn't quite right. However, the American football article has a glossary, and it currently has a pointer to "blitz", which points to this article.
So basically, some thought to reorganization is probably called for here.
AFAIK Blitz is normally used to refer to the bombing of London and Blitzkreig is never shortened to Blitz when referring to the rapid movement of the German troops in WW2. So I think this article is misleading Blitz book written by Vince cross about Edie a girl of 11 years old living in London whilst the war between Germans and Britain.
Blitz is used (in Brazil, at least) reffering to that cop thing were they stop all ongoing cars in one street/road and ask for the papers. Propably called so because if all documents are ok, it'll be fast and no problem. Dunno it's real name and it's name in English.
