I remember seeing a page a couple of years ago containing a detailed description of the method the game uses to generate Blue Sphere stages. (Or it might just have been a single forum post.) There was also another page - a Chinese one I think - with a code and map generator for valid stages. They could be useful links to add, so does anyone know where either of these sites are? --Nick R 17:51, 26 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Its good
I tell you this is a good game.
[edit] Stages and Levels
I want to clarify the mistake that NESBoy has made -
"Levels" have numbers ranging from 1 to 1^27, and refer to all the information that makes up a level - its number, its layout, and its two passwords. "Stages" are the level layouts. Thus, every level has a stage; however, more than one level may have the same stage, and some possible stages may not be had by any level at all.
Passwords are for levels, not for stages - the version that you cannot advance from is not just a stage, it is a specific level, as can be seen by moving the cursor up. Just as normally, this will cause the stage number to be displayed instead of the level, in this case, it will cause the level number to be displayed instead of the stage. This is even the case when a cartridge other than Sonic 1 is locked on to S&K. Given a stage which is used by two different levels (and, as we know, such exist), since it every level has passwords of both types, one could find passwords for two different levels, with the same stage, from which you could not advance - thus disproving the idea that these passwords are just stage passwords rather than level passwords, even if the level may not actuall matter in this case.
