Bobbi Fiedler

Bobbi Fiedler (April 22, 1937–) was a Congresswoman who made a name for herself as a strong opponent of forced busing.

Born Roberta Frances Horowitz in Santa Monica, California on April 22, 1937, Fiedler attended area public schools. Studies continued at Santa Monica Technical School (1955–1957) and Santa Monica City College (1955–1959).
In 1977 she was elected to the Los Angeles (City) Board of Education, where she along with boardmember Roberta Weintraub were fierce opponents of forced busing. She served until 1980 when she was elected as a Republican to the Ninety-seventh Congress as a beneficiary of Reagan's coattails. Fiedler was twice reelected and then made an unsuccessful bid for the Republican nomination to the United States Senate.
She is currently a resident of Northridge, California.
