Brent Webb (born November 8, 1980 in Cairns, Queensland) is a New Zealand rugby league player for the Leeds Rhinos in the Super League (Europe) competition. He has also represented the New Zealand national team and was a stand-out player at the 2006 Tri-Nations tournament. His position of choice is at fullback. Brent Webb is a former schoolboy player from Kirwan State High School in Townsville, Queensland, Australia.
Although he is Australian born and is an Indigenous Australian of Torres Strait Islander origin, he became a New Zealand citizen which later allowed him to be selected for the New Zealand national team.
Australian player Willie Mason created controversy for being televised verbally mocking Webb during the Kiwis performance of the Haka before the first 2006 Tri-Nations match in Auckland, New Zealand. Mason stated that he was mocking Webb for doing the haka even though he was an Aboriginal, Webb later retorted that he was not an Aboriginal but in fact a Torres Strait Islander.
