Bretleben

Bretleben is a community in Thuringia, Germany. It's part of the Kyffhäuserkreis district and is located at the right side of the river Unstrut, between the towns of Heldrungen and Artern. It's situated at the railway connection between Erfurt and Sangerhausen, which branches off to Bad Frankenhausen and Sondershausen.
Population: 634 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2006) living on an area of 8.62 km². It's geographical coordinates are 51° 20' N, 11° 14' E.

At the beginning of the 9th century Bretleben is mentioned as Bretalaho in a document the first time.
