Burnet Elementary School (Galveston, Texas)

Burnet Elementary School is a Pre-K through 5th grade school. It is a part of Galveston Independent School District. The school was named after David G. Burnet.
The school's colors are blue and gold, and the mascot is a pirate.

During the 2004-2005 school year, Burnet enrolled 617 students [1]. 63% were Hispanic, 19% were White, 18% were African-American, and less than 1% were Asian. No Native American students were enrolled during that year. Additionally, 77% of the students qualified for free or reduced lunch.

Burnet requires school uniforms for its students [2].
Students may wear the following:
- Royal blue or white polo shirts sans logos
- Khaki, navy, or denim trousers and skirts
- Brown or black shoes
- Royal blue or white jackets and sweaters

The students go for middle school to either Central Middle School or Weis Middle School.
All GISD students attend Ball High School for high school.
