Earliest living US senator

This page contains the individuals, who, at the time of their deaths, were the earliest living senators of any U.S. state. It categorizes earliest living in two respects. There is a list of Senator who were the oldest living Senators and there is also a list of Senators who were the most senior living Senators at the time of their deaths. In order to keep in touch with current events, there are lists of the top 10 or 20 current oldest living and most senior senators. The current earliest living US senator is Clifford Hansen. The current most senior living senator (sitting or former) is Robert Byrd.
