El-Lisht

Located south of Cairo, Egypt, el-Lisht is the name of a modern village where there were found the remains of a Middle Kingdom cemetery.
There are two pyramids: the one of Amenemhat I and the one of Senusret I. The pyramid and pyramid complex of Sesostris I is the best presreved of the Middle Kingdom.
Around the pyramids were found several hundred tombs of officials and their family members buried here in the 12th and 13th Dynasty. The tomb of Senebtisi was found undisturbed and still contained a nice set of jewelry.
