Eliézer Niyitegeka

Eliézer Niyitegeka (12 March 1952) is a Rwandan journalist and politician. He was made Rwanda's Minister of Information on 9 April 1994. Niyitegeka personally helped incite hatred against Tutsis through the media and various meetings. Moreover, he personally assisted the attacks on the Tutsi population, and committed murders, mutilation and rape during the Rwandan genocide. On 16 May 2003, he was found guilty of six counts of genocide and crimes against humanity, and sentenced to life imprisonment.
