Hello and Welcome! I hope you like the place. --mav

Hello! I reverted some vandalism from Suffragette, and I think one of your edits got caught in the crossfire, but I can't seem to find it. Could you have a look and see if anything's missing? 81.105.48.31 00:04, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, but it is oke, my small contribution remains. Ellywa 10:55, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, I came here through the Dutch wiki, where I am currently kindof addicted to. Its nice!

Hoi.

Darkelf 10:45, Dec 18, 2003 (UTC)

Please check again your historical atlas. In 1686 Danzig was a biggest city of Polish Province of Royal Prussia, and this didn't change until 1793. Thanks in advance. Cautious 12:57, 13 Jan 2004 (UTC)

For who does not understand this: Cautious is talking about Gabriel Fahrenheit, where an edit war is going on. Ellywa 17:52, 13 Jan 2004 (UTC)

We need an article about the neologism spum, which (according to the article) won't appear on the internet until next month? -- Wondering simply, Infrogmation 04:11, 26 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Thanks, correction made. Ellywa 11:00, 26 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Believe me, I didn't mean to do that, I was just thinking in English too much. I'll have to go round and fix the Interwiki links, since I did it in the other languages I signed up for as well! Thanks for listing things on the Dutch VfD. David Newton 06:11, 21 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Why do you delete the thumbnails from the constellation entries? – Torsten Bronger 00:44, 11 Apr 2004 (UTC)

The "tumbnails" were no real thumbnails, bur redirects to larger images. I replaced them, because the interwiki robot could not upload them automatically. I think I changed only one. I am now hoping the robot will be debugged. If you don't like it, it may be reverted (I saw you did this already). My apologies if I caused any inconvenience. Ellywa 01:13, 11 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Could you please put a more descriptive caption on the image you added to birefringence? Thanks. —Steven G. Johnson 03:58, Apr 20, 2004 (UTC)

Bedankt voor je welkom! groetjes, Sietse 21:09, 13 Sep 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Article Licensing

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

[edit] Broken image

Your picture at Image:Afbeelding Mauritshuis, Den Haag, juni 2003.JPG seems to be a broken image. Could you upload it again? While you're at it, could you add a image copyright tag? You can use gfdl if you release it under the GFDL, or fairuse if you claim fair use, etc. Thanks so much, Ricky81682 (talk) 01:58, Dec 20, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Image licensing

Hi. I am currently reviewing license/copyright information of art images. I came across this image: Image:Leeuwenjacht delacroix.jpg which User:Squash labeled as images of unknown source (Template:Unverified. I think that given Delacroix passed away more than 100 years ago, the image could be tagged with Template:PD-art, but I thought I would ask you first. Thank you for your attention, Tomos 13:27, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Interwiki for Thai cities

Recently you add Interwiki links for Thai cities. However the dutch article you link is a disambiguation page, while the German or English one are about the city. Thus I had to remove the links again. andy 22:05, 17 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Sorry and thank you for restoring this. I am currently adding many links to dutch wikipedia, I try to avoid mistakes, but it is sometimes inevitable. Ellywa 16:18, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] RobotE

Have you applied for permission to run your interwiki bot? I don't see anything about it on Wikipedia:Bots. --Carnildo 05:25, 21 May 2005 (UTC)

Yes indeed, I did, please note Wikipedia_talk:Bots below on that page. I thought I could the run the bot while permission is pending? Is this correct? Ellywa 05:32, 21 May 2005 (UTC)
Thanks, I'd missed that. It would probably be a good idea to stop the bot, at least until it gets approved for a proper test run. We've had trouble recently with interwiki bots accidentally removing potentially thousands of interwiki links. --Carnildo 05:57, 21 May 2005 (UTC)
I do not see the need for that now. I have run the same bot from this account, Ellywa, for many 1000's of changes without any comments. The only difference is the name of the user. Please look into my "User contributions" and take a stance after that. Ellywa 06:00, 21 May 2005 (UTC)
You may run your bot for a full duration of one week, to prove the burden of proof that the bot is: harmless, useful, and not a server hog. -- AllyUnion (talk) 06:50, 27 May 2005 (UTC)

Hello. RobotE is now flagged as a bot. If you ever need this flag removed, please ask at meta:requests for permissions. Angela. 09:39, May 31, 2005 (UTC)

HI, thank you very much Angela, in behalf of all who don't want the bot in the Recent changes. Ellywa 05:33, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Dear Ellywa, after looking the contributions under User:RobotE, I'm very impressed. Congratulations for receiving the bot status flag for the account. Please understand that my replies on Wikipedia talk:Bots was not meant to be harsh or go against your bot in any matter. You must understand that FlaBot caused some damage with its edits which remained unnoticed for sometime. Therefore, I was attempting to be careful and making sure that nothing bad happened. Although you made edits under User:Ellywa, there was no prior request for the status. Certainly, we can accept your proof with your edits under User:Ellywa, but it is far better to make certain that whatever code you are running is run under the account you say you are going to run. I apologize if I had caused any trouble for you, but I wished only the best for the Wikipedia. Thank you. -- AllyUnion (talk) 09:01, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Hi AllyUnion, Of course I understand you have to be carefull and as I am not a regular contributor here you are not aware of my intentions and the way I work at NL wikipedia. No hard feelings at all. Keep up the good work for the good of Wikipedia, Regards, Ellywa 10:16, 2 Jun 2005 (UTC)

RobotE's edit to Tarsier (and likely other pages) was marked as modifying the ja and nl interwiki links, but it also modified the he link. I'm not sure if you intended this or noticed it, or if it worked correctly. — The Storm Surfer 01:12, 16 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Mashhad

Hi, thank you for your message. I didn't know Wolley was from the Dutch WP and creating problems there. The website he is linking to is actually Persian. The information he wants to add to the article is totally inappropriate since these events are covered elsewhere in much more specific detail and within the proper context. See Judicial system of Iran, for instance. He also has a very definite POV as he is stating that they are homosexual when there is no evidence of this (they were convicted of raping a boy). The only way I see of dealing with him is taking the case to ArbCom. What are your thoughts? SouthernComfort 00:52, 28 July 2005 (UTC)

Correction: it seems that he is from the German WP - he has been involved with the article there as well. [1]] The image he uploaded there was also deleted it seems, as it was here (he took it from another website). SouthernComfort 03:04, 28 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Interwiki links for categories

Hello I noticed RobotE is working on the wikilinks between articles of different languages. Is there any plan to work on categories too? Thanks. :-) — Instantnood 13:05, August 12, 2005 (UTC)

Personally I have no plans, but I will try an automatic run. Usually I only put new links starting from new articles on Dutch wikipedia. Ellywa 10:25, 14 August 2005 (UTC)
Hello, I've seen that RobotE has been adding wikilinks to categories such as Category:1991 births. As you can see, this makes for a pretty nasty page, since the interwiki is already included in the template of which the page is made up. Would you mind reversing these changes? Thank you Sam Vimes 20:48, 18 August 2005 (UTC)
My sincere apologies, I put a request for help from an administrator here: Wikipedia:Vandalism in progress. And of course I stopped the bot. Ellywa 21:11, 18 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] I fixed dagger

I fixed the dagger on your front user page, so it looks like a dagger, not just a cross.

hope you don't mind.--GordonWattsDotCom 10:27, 31 August 2005 (UTC)

PS: Here's the raw link to the diff -which was on 10:26, 31 August 2005:

Thank you very much, you are very helpfull. I want to prepare an article about this in Dutch wikipedia, but there is need to do more research. Ellywa 21:02, 31 August 2005 (UTC)
You are welcome. Well, I am glad I could help, but now I am going to remove your page from my watchlist, so if you replied again, I would not see it. Have a nice day.--GordonWattsDotCom 09:59, 1 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] New Engineering Wiki

Engineering Wiki is a wiki entirely dedicated to collecting information about Engineering. I invite you to join this wiki.

[edit] Appeal

Hello. Can your bot help with one issue? The issue is double-interwikis in "births" and "deaths" categories (for example look at Category:1983 deaths and Category:1847 births). Some of the interwikis are already in the "birthyr" and "deathyr" templates. - Darwinek 10:55, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

I would be glad to help, but there is currently no solution. I have asked bot developer Andre Engels, but it is complicated he says. Ellywa 07:15, 27 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Lakshadweep

Hello,

Did you remove Kiltan island from the inhabited islands list? If so what is the reason for removal. It is one among inhabited islands. Noorul 14:10, 12 November 2005 (UTC)

Sorry, I am not aware I did such thing the last few days, of even before, Ellywa 19:52, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Please check your WP:NA entry

Greetings, editor! Your name appears on Wikipedia:List of non-admins with high edit counts. If you have not done so lately, please take a look at that page and check your listing to be sure that following the particulars are correct:

 1. If you are an admin, please remove your name from the list.
 2. If you are currently interested in being considered for adminship, please be sure your name is in bold; if you are opposed to being considered for adminship, please cross out your name (but do not delete it, as it will automatically be re-added in the next page update).
 3. Please check to see if you are in the right category for classification by number of edits.

Thank you, and have a wiki wiki day! BD2412 T 04:10, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, I have been on a long-time wikibreak, but made my name bold today. Ellywa 07:33, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Happy Birthday!

Just a happy Birthday message to you, Ellywa, from the Wikipedia Birthday Committee! Have a great day!

[edit] Eiland

I have nominated Eiland for deletion, you may leave a vote and a comment on its deletion here. --Eivindt@c 07:18, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Thank you very much. Ellywa 08:32, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ellywa/testarticle

This really ought to be a User: subpage, not in the main article namespace. (And you might want to consider what it says in WP:CONTEXT before proceeding further with this idea.) --Russ Blau (talk) 21:34, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, this was a mistake, I renamed it into User:Ellywa/testarticle. Can you please delete the redirect, I never know how to list a page for speedy deletion down here. Thank you for telling me. My suggestion is to make no links at all anymore, never, exept maybe for combined terms, but to link automatically if somebody wants to know more about any word or term. Guidelines such as context you mentioned are not effective (at least not at NL wikipedia) because people keep always going on with adding links.... Today somebody made a link to an old aunt of mine, just a very ordinary although nice person. Only because she is the mother of somebody... Just because the name is there, the link is made. It happens all the time. Ellywa 05:54, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] This is a automated to all bot operators

Please take a few moments and fill in the data for your bot on Wikipedia:Bots/Status Thank you Betacommand (talkcontribsBot) 19:46, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Automated message to bot owners

As a result of discussion on the village pump and mailing list, bots are now allowed to edit up to 15 times per minute. The following is the new text regarding bot edit rates from Wikipedia:Bot Policy:

Until new bots are accepted they should wait 30-60 seconds between edits, so as to not clog the recent changes list and user watchlists. After being accepted and a bureaucrat has marked them as a bot, they can edit at a much faster pace. Bots doing non-urgent tasks should edit approximately once every ten seconds, while bots who would benefit from faster editing may edit approximately once every every four seconds.

Also, to eliminate the need to spam the bot talk pages, please add Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard to your watchlist. Future messages which affect bot owners will be posted there. Thank you. --Mets501 02:35, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
