Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India

The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDI or EDII) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promote entrepreneurship that is based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It was founded in 1983 with the sponsorship of the Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI), the Industrial Finance Corporation of India (IFCI), the Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India (ICICI) and State Bank of India (SBI).
The institute is located close to Ahmedabad Airport at the village Bhat in Gandingar District. Mr B.G.Patel was the founder director of the institute. Its buildings, designed by Bimal Hasmukh Patel, are set in a 23-acre lush green campus and received the Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 1992.[1]
EDI runs a range of educational programs in the field of entrepreneurship including 1-year Diploma program for first generation entrepreneurs, family business inheritors, agri-business, and non-governmental organization management.
Mr. Dinesh Awasthi is the Director of the institute and Mr Sunil Shukla is the Post Graduate Programm director.
This year Mrs Leela Feroz Poonawala Board member IDBI has Presuded over the convocation of EDI for the PG Batch 2005-06. Earlier Mr Yashwant Sinha, Mr Anil Ambani, Mr Kumar Mangalam Birla and Mr. Vijay Path Singhania has presided over the convocation of EDI.
