Talk:Evil empire (disambiguation)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I removed the term "derogatory" from the yankees link, just because I don't think many New Yorkers really care that much.. after all, they have been known to use placards with Darth Vader with a white NY on his helmet to taunt Pedro Martinez. I could be wrong though. If it's that big a deal, change it back. --Rethcir 18:54, Oct 25, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Wal-Mart = Evil Empire?
This assertion is unsourced, and indeed the text "evil empire" does not even appear in the Wal-Mart article. I'm sure someone calls Wal-Mart an evil empire, but if that's the standard we'll have to put a lot more bullet points in here... Miraculouschaos 01:03, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Is the Star Wars reference valid?
I think that the Star Wars reference on this page is invalid. I'm not a complete Star Wars nut, so maybe I'm wrong on this, but I don't ever remember hearing the entity in question referred to as (specific phrase) "evil empire". It was always "The Empire". Yes, it was an empire, yes it was evil, but as a phrase, it doesn't hold water in this case. (Especially up against established uses, like Reagan's, or the RATM album title.) I think it should be removed. Either that or George Lucas should go and change the name of the movie to "The Evil Empire Strikes Back." Migp 17:33, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
- I think I agree. Thedreamdied 13:18, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
