The Gunpowder Plot: Exploding The Legend was a British television show where Richard Hammond tried to re-create The Gunpowder Plot where Guy Fawkes attempted to blow-up the Houses of Parliament.
First aired on ITV1, this programme centred around a reconstuction of the Houses of Parliament, built using similar methods wherever possible. This was stocked with dummies representing the members and the king and then blown up.
The programme answered any question of whether the plot would have actually worked, not only would have the Houses of Parliament been completly obliterated, but most of the windows in Westminster Abbey would have shattered from the sheer force of the impact.
