Eynhallow
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Eynhallow is a small island, part of the Orkney Islands, Scotland. It lies between the two islands of Mainland and Rousay in what is known as the Eynhallow Sound. It has been uninhabited since the landowner cleared crofters away in 1851.
The island's main attraction is a church dating from the twelfth century or earlier, and perhaps originally part of a monastery. It is also a bird sanctuary.
It has its own folklore, concerning the initial finding of the island.
