Félix Bonfils

Félix Bonfils (1831 - 1885) was a French photographer and writer who was active in the Middle East.
Félix Bonfils was born on 8 March 1831. He and his family moved to Beirut (then in the Ottoman Empire) in 1867 where they opened a photographic studio called "Maison Bonfils", which became "F. Bonfils et Cie" in 1878. Bonfils photographed in Lebanon, Egypt, Palestine, Syria, Greece and Constantinople (now Istanbul).
He died on either 9 April or 31 August 1885 in Alès, France.
