Fahan School in Tasmania
Fahan School was established as a school for girls in the mid 1930's in Hobart, Tasmania.

- 1934 In December, Miss Travers and Miss Morphett arrived in Hobart.
- 1935 February, school opened at 272, Sandy Bay Rd.

- October, Fahan purchased 'Lauramont' (now Mt.Carmel College)
- First play, 'The Coat of Many Colours', was performed in the St. Stephen's Hall
- 1936 Easter, school moved into Lauramont
- 1940 Three houses, Franklin, Fenton and Freycinet were formed
- 1942 Part of the old school evacuated, for fear of invasion of Hobart, to Interlaken for two terms
- 1944 Old Fahan sold
- 1946 190 students enrolled and work on new site at present site commenced
- 1948 New school opened
- 1955 300 pupils enrolled
- 1957 Miss Ida Washington commenced as the new Principal
- 1960 The School Song, written by the Stiasnys, was presented to the school as a gift from the Davies Family

- First School Council met on 15 December, negotiations began to sell Fahan to the Presbyterian Church
- 1961 The School officially became Fahan Presbyterian Girls' College.

- Miss Hester Clarke appointed Acting Principal
- 1962 Miss Marian Tyers became new Principal
- 1965 New Science block opened. The kilt replaced winter tunics and skirts
- 1967 Miss Janette Emmerson became the new Principal
- 1971 New Library opened
- 1977 School placed under the Auspices of the Uniting Church
- 1978 Mrs Gerdy Jevtic took over as Principal

- 'Octagon' building opened
- 1982 Mrs Jevtic retired and Mrs Helen Carkeek appointed as Principal

- Miss Travers died
- 1984 T-M complex completed
- 1985 Mrs Carkeek resigned and Mrs Margaret Causon became Acting Principal

- Fahan School 50th Anniversary Celebrations
- 1986 Mrs Julie Pappas appointed as new Principal
- 1988 Hedgeland purchased by the school
- 1991 Mrs Pappas resigned and Mrs J. Margaret Alexander appointed as new Principal
- 1993 Mrs Alexander retired due to ill health and Mrs Anne Watchorn became Acting Principal
- 1995 Appointment of Mr Tim Waley as Principal
