[edit] Another Esperanzial note...
Hi again Esperanzians! Well, since our last frolic in the realms of news, the Advisory Council has met twice more (see WP:ESP/ACM2 and WP:ESP/ACM3). As a result, the charter has been ammended twice (see here for details) and all of the shortcuts have been standardised (see the summary for more details). Also of note is the Valentines ball that will take place in the Esperanza IRC channel on the 14th of February (tomorrow). It will start at 6pm UTC and go on until everyone's had enough! I hope to see you all there! Also, the spamlist has been dissolved - all Esperanzians will now recieve this update "newsletter".
The other major notice I need to tell you about is the upcoming Esperanza Advisory Council Elections. These will take place from 12:00 UTC on February 20th to 11:59 UTC on February 27th. The official handing-over will take place the following day. Candidates are able to volunteer any time before the 20th, so long as they are already listed on the members list. Anyone currently listed on the memberlist can vote. In a change since last time, if you have already been a member of the leadership, you may run again. Due to the neutrality precident, I will not vote for anyone.
Yours, as ever, Esperanzially,

[edit] Charles Ives FARC
The article Charles Ives has been listed on Wikipedia:Featured article removal candidates (Wikipedia:Featured article removal candidates/Charles Ives), by me, as it has no inline citations and thus does not meet the featured article criteria at Wikipedia:What is a featured article?: "A featured article has the following attributes" 2.b. "'factually accurate' includes the supporting of facts with specific evidence and external citations...these include a "References" section where the references are set out, complemented where appropriate by inline citations."
I'm writing you because you voted for it to be a featured article and perhaps contributed to the article. If you did the latter you may be able to add inline citations where appropriate much easier than someone unaquainted with the sources used. I thought you might be interested in the FARC or in saving the article from FAR by adding citations. Thanks. Hyacinth 11:47, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hello
Just popping in to see how you are. I trust you are on the mend? We would love to see you about the place again. -- ALoan (Talk) 12:41, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
-
- D'you know Aloan I can just imagine you "popping" into a Chapel of Rest and saying that? You are the most British person I (don't) know! It's a pity Filiocht is Irish, but I'm sure he appreciates and loves you - ( I'm not British so I can "love you" without being ... well! ..you know!) as much as the rest of us. So come back soon dearest Fil, because there are horrible moves about this place especially on FARC where there is an obsession with "inline cites" or to be precise lack of them. So get your posterior back into gear, or else ALoan and I will be forced to rewrite The Cantos to save the encyclopedia's finest article. So stop malingering and join us again. If you are not rejoining us (and do believe, Oh so sincerely - no will be more pained then me) can I have your place on the Arbcom - or just give me your password - no one will notice the change in style, except ALoan and he has a very big Germanic problem to complete, so will be far to busy to notice. Giano | talk 17:57, 7 April 2006 (UTC)]
-
- Another good reason to return is to get rid of those very common marigolds someone has given you, less than subtly placed at the top of the page - well meaning I'm sure - but do you really want a "North of the river" type bedding plant on your Wikipedian grave for ever more. No you do not! Return tout-de-suite Giano | talk 18:07, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
Wow, you guys (Bish, Giano, Aloan, et al) are everywhere. I popped in here to make sure our friend Filiocht was OK, and you guys have beaten me to the punch. So I'll just reiterate what was said above - Filiocht, I hope you are feeling better and will be able to edit again soon. We miss your good editing. Raul654 10:04, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
More of the same as above, though I'm not as witty as Giano, nor as creative as some of the others above, but I've been meaning to drop you a line. Let us know if we can do anything for you, and get well soon. - Taxman Talk 04:08, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Old Skool Esperanzial note
Since this isn't the result of an AC meeting, I have decided to go Old Skool. This note is to remind you that the elections are taking place now and will end at 23:50 UTC on 2006-04-29. Please vote here. Thanks. --Celestianpower háblame 20:42, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Arb Case Mistake
Hi, im confused about something said in a report on the Arbirition case against me.
In this report, it states that i had warred on Gothic Metal, and been placed on Probation. It also says i violated WP:CITE. I want to know how this came about, when both myself and User:Parasti provided diffs to me citing sources. It also says this as a 'finding of fact'. In which case, here is the speficic sections which falsly accuse me of not providing sources, and the evidence that supported this, and the accompnying diffs:
Finding Of Fact Contrary To Provided Diffs
Diff from Evidence, Diff from Evidence, Diff from Evidence, taken from Parasti's Evidence. Diff from Evidence, taken from [Evidence] Diff from Evidence, taken from Leys Evidence. Diff from Evidence, Diff from Evidence taken from Leys Evidence Diff from Evidence, Diff from Evidence, taken from Leys Evidence
I even went as far as to quoting and explaining the sources on the talk page, [1].
I got all these diffs from the archive of the Arbirition case, Here.
I just want to know why all eight claimed i provided no sources, even though another involved party provided diffs of me providing sources, and i repeatedly gave diffs of me supplying sources. Im not having a go, im just confused how 8 Arbirrators managed to claim a 'finding of fact' despite over 10 diffs from two different users =\ Ley Shade 15:02, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A short Esperanzial update
As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.
Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
