Fittleworth railway station
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Fittleworth railway station served the village of Fittleworth in the county of West Sussex in England. It was on the London Brighton and South Coast Railway's line between Pulborough and Midhurst. The station opened some years after the line (1859) in September 1889. The station closed totally from May 1963, although freight was the only traffic since passenger trains were withdrawn in February 1955. The line through the station was open for a number of years after 1963 to 1966, and the small station building remained undeveloped for many years. However it was restored, and is now used as a private house.
