Folkoperan

Folkoperan is an opera house in Sweden, founded by Claes Fellbom in 1976. It's located in Stockholm at Hornsgatan 72 at Södermalm (the popular south district in Stockholm town).
Over the years, Folkoperan has in Stockholm worked as an antithesis to the Royal Swedish Opera; with a smaller, intimate stage and unconventional productions it has become very appreciated by the Swedish opera audience. Folkoperan has also over the years been seen as Sweden's most important stage for freelance opera singers and musicians.
Folkoperan is one of Scandinavia's most successful opera houses in terms of the size of the audience.
Folkoperan clebrated its 25th anniversary with the new opera, Jeppe: The Cruel Comedy, written and directed by Fellbom and composed by Sven-David Sandström.
