Francis Crake

Francis Crake (d. 28 November 1920) was a lieutenant-colonel in the British forces. He came from Northumberland.
He was the commander of a unit of the Royal Irish Constabulary Auxiliary Division based in the town of Macroom in County Cork. He was killed at the legendary Kilmichael Ambush. A partly fictionalised account of this incident appeared in the film The Wind That Shakes the Barley.
