Sorry for the NUMEROUS edits I've made to this page, but I've been trying my best to clean it up and summarize the story as best as possible without making the article too long. I'll add more information as soon as I can in order to make this the best article possible. King Zeal 16:39, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

I've also done some cleanup edits, but I'm of the opinion that the story section should be on the Dead Rising page itself. I've popped a tag on the page, in an effort to get some discussions about this going. --Oscarthecat 14:55, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

I do not believe this article should be merged with the main Dead Rising article. It would make the Dead Rising article far too long. Plus, this character has alot of things to cover. I mean, just look at it already. This subject needs it's own article. Smile Lee 02:31, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

But would you agree that the section is concerned with the Dead Rising story, rather than Frank himself? How about an article on the Dead Rising story? It just seems rather out of place here in Frank's article. The Half-Life_series_storyline seems to have it about right, placing the story there rather than just dropping it into the Gordon Freeman article. I was afraid this would happen. I tried to keep the story section focused as much on Frank as possible. I agree that it needs to be reduced, but I would like to keep it in this article as it should chronicle Frank's struggle and character development. King Zeal 21:11, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

Take the storyline out, and there isn't much left to say on Frank West. Perhaps the best thing to do is toss the character entry, and create a new storyline entry, using the material listed here as a starting point (as the general consensus seems to be that the storyline needs some editorial cleaning.--Lewzr 00:06, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

I don't believe a storyline article would be necessary. The main reason I say that is because the story Dead Rising centered around the character "Frank West. It's the reason a Frank West article is needed instead of an article based on the storyline, because the storyline was Frank West's adventure in the Willamette Mall. Plus I could think of a few more things to put in this article than just his story.Smile Lee 04:43, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

You don't have to make a story section that's exclusive to Frank if it means leaving out other important facts about the story. In that case just create a Dead Rising (Story) article and link to it from the main page so that we have something that is a little less limited. Don't get me wrong though, this is an extremely nice job. I do think that the info outside of the story on Frank is a little limited and could be condensed to a paragraph or two in the characters section on the main article. If your going to make one of these articles for Frank, there should be more for the other important characters to keep things consistant. Hewinsj 19:23, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

I'm all for main characters in games having their own pages. Solid Snake, Chris Redfield, blah blah blah, they all get their own pages, Frank can too. 207.114.232.98 01:15, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

The big difference between Solid Snake and Frank West is that Snake has a VG career that spans more than four games (excluding side-stories). Frank West's only been in one game and his character is synonymous with only one game. This is just an overly bloated plot summary of the game centering around the player's character. The Frank West articlen has no place in the main Dead Rising article. It would make that article far too long, and add too much information about the plot. Plus, the story of Dead Rising was almost entirely told around the character Frank West. So I think having a Dead Rising Story article would be pointless and redundant. The other characters should not have their own articles seeing as how they were all minor/contributing characters, therefore they belong on the main article not in an entirely new story article. True! But only because most of the info is fancruft/plot summary that doesn't really add anything to the article. If people wanted to know about the plot of the game, they would be better off playing the game itself to begin with. Remove that and all you can say about Frank West is that he's "a freelance photographer who is the protagonist of Dead Rising". Jonny2x4 17:14, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Storyline: I'm slightly confused why we needed a storyline on this page anyways... I mean c'mon, we've already written the storyline for Dead Rising on the main article... I agree that taking out the storyline on this page will probably leave nothing left, but, maybe we could try some of the ideas from the section below? -More about Frank's character.
-More about Frank's character development throughout the story.
-Information on his viewpoint of the characters around him.

• 1) Not a bad idea.
• 2 & 3) A bit hard to do without going word-for-word from the manual/strategy guide and/or citing examples to the point where it becomes equally long to the "story" section.
• 4) He doesn't really give it. Frank is typically a "play-it-by-ear" type of character who really doesn't do too much deep thinking.

Someone should add a list of the various moves and the lvl to require them.

Well, the idea's ok, but I think we should restate it... I mean "although he's in a mall swarming with zombies that are out for his flesh" seems a little bit, critical or something.
