In 2004, the school became a Specialist School in Mathematics and Computing. The school claim to fame is teaching local footballer Lee Holmes. The also has also had a lot of critism has it does not bother with the better students but instead has more of an eye on chavs however they make them worse and can become extremely unstable around school.
