Friskies PetCare Company produced dog and cat food under various brand names. Friskies PetCare Company, a division of Nestlé,[1] merged with Ralston Purina in 2001 after Nestlé acquired all of the outstanding shares of Ralston Purina (NYSE: RAL) for US$ 33.50 per share in cash. The offer represented a premium of 36 percent over the closing price on Friday, January 12, 2001, and the merged company was re-named Nestlé Purina PetCare.[2] Friskies brand cat food continues to be manufactured by Nestlé Purina PetCare.
