Thoughts of the undetermined-time-period: Assume competence.
Warning: I use common sense, but this doesn't mean my judgment is always magically correct. When I screw up, please let me know. If I've done something you disagree with strongly enough to undo it, by all means do so (but it might be nice to leave a note saying why.) That goes for normal edits and deletions/unprotections/blocks.
Full disclosure: my edits my log my cowbell

[edit] Wiki activities/philosophy
I'm basically a wikignome. I'm no great writer so I just contribute how I can - this generally means tasks that are easier than creating brilliant prose. I do a bit of new page patrol when I'm bored, and I think we should probably stop letting just anyone make new articles. I would decribe myself as a fundamentalist wikipedian. I've been trying to focus on new page patrol lately, so I've been doing lots of deletions. Like everyone, I use my own interpretation of the WP:DP. I delete advertisements on sight. My main focus here lately seems to be damage control. I do a lot of new page patrol, deleting junk while it's fresh. Lately it seems apparent that there's a big divide between those who want to exactly follow a rigid process, and those that just want to IAR and do what they think is appropriate, with or without using an exact process. I believe that common sense and consensus produce better results faster and easier than a complex process. For this reason, I really like the idea of a pure wiki deletion system.
I've deleted a good number of articles, but I don't consider myself a deletionist. If you absolutely had to divide everyone up into inclusionists and deletionists, I guess I'd have to be a mergist. Afd is bizarrely dysfunctional and should be avoided when possible. I think WP:NOR is widely misunderstood and frequently ignored. It's possible that I sometimes tend toward being a verifiability-nazi, but I'm endeavoring to be a kinder, gentler, verifibility-nazi.
Oh yeah, and don't edit war. Everyone should follow the one revert rule, and this includes admin actions as well as edits. Bold, revert, discuss makes the wiki go 'round. Some people are opposed to any reversal of a sysop action but I am not one of them. If I strongly feel a block is wrong, I may sometimes unblock. Generally, I'd bring it up with the blocking admin instead, but it depends on circumstances. If I see an improper deletion, I may well undelete it, without waiting a week on deletion review. I believe it's almost always poor form for someone who's action has been undone to redo it. When your change is reverted, it's now time to discuss. Don't be an angry mastodon.
[edit] Miscellaneous stuff
I don't particularly have any scholarly expertise. I have a BS in Political science, but no particular lingering interest in politics, other than a bit of bemused disbelief. I have reasonable familiarity with a few subjects like computers (including programming), firearms, guitars, cars, and beer. I have a bar band, but it's not very verifiable.
There's more misc stuff here: /bcrat /Misc Problem editors /Admin abuse /Bands /Arbcom admin requirements /AFD admin recall
Read the stuff below at your own risk. It's not meant to be meaningful to others, it's just a list of stuff I don't want to forget about.
[edit] Things to work on
This list is terrible. I need /todo also. In fact here it is:
Be useful, work on articles. Do not fight monsters, lest you become a monster yourself. Avoid conflict. IAA. Don't respond to flamebait, even to say "please stop the flamebait". address the relevant issues, if any are present. Do not attempt to reason with people who are more interested in being right than in reaching some workable solution.'
