Can anyone tell me what date 'red diesel' started to be dyed in the UK? I'm building a model based in the 1950s and 60s and wondered what colour any spillages should be. 66.117.193.162 13:24, 17 May 2006 (UTC)David Barham

In Hungary in the 90s, the organized crime took serious (millions in USD) profit from counterfeiting diesel oil. They modified a dark colored low-tax oil with sulfuric acid into a yellow oil, looking like a high-tax diesel oil, causing damage to engines, and the goverment.
