March 2007 According to Bahraich gazatier Salar Masood was not a saint but a invader, who came to bahraich for looting and making new converts. He was killed by king suheldev who was the ruler of sravasti and follower of jain religion. Massod was killed by him.After three hundred years when Abrahim Lodi came he felt offended when he came to know about this incident of Salar Masood.So he made a Dargah(muslim shrine) in the name of Masood and a hindu festival(mela) which was occuring in the month of Jeth(june) every year was named after the name of Masood .This Salar Masood was also a part of earlier ivasions to India and participated in the demolition of Somnath Temple in Gujrat.
