[edit] Using images from Japanese-language wikis
I have been adding/editing Japan-related pages. I see a lot of images on the Japanese-language wiki pages that could be useful. But I cannot seem to find out the proper way to reference them, or if we need to upload them to the English site, how to attribute the copyright. For the most part, it seems that no copyright is given on the Japanese-langauge image pages.
Thanks in advance for any guidance!
[edit] Help
How can I help you? ComputerJoe 17:36, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
Hi, you cannot reference images on the Japanese-language wiki directly, instead the either need to be "commons" images, or uploaded onto the English wiki. As you note copyright is important and they should be tagged on the Japanese-language wiki, if not then the only way is to try and find the copyright status some other way (you'd be better asking about the statuses on that wiki). If in doubt, it is generally best to assume that you can't use an image. --pgk(talk) 17:37, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
