Glanfurt

The Glanfurt is a distributary of the Wörthersee in Austria. It starts south of the peninsula Maria Loretto on the eastern end of the Wörthersee. The Glanfurt is called "Sattnitz" by carinthian people and runs more like a channel straight to the east until it flows into river Glan at Ebenthal southeast of Klagenfurt. In summer it is the southern recreation of Klagenfurt with a number of opportunities for free bathing and a good bicycle track along the river. The Glanfurt runs past Viktring a small neighboring village thats founding predates that of the capital city Klagenfurt.
