[edit] The Official WrestleCrap Forums

The Official WrestleCrap Board - EZBoards

The WrestleCrap Forums were first created by Madison Carter in September 2003 (the exact date is unknown) as a companion to RD Reynolds' popular WrestleCrap website. Although not created or maintained by RD, they were approved of and endorsed by him with a link on his official site. They were originally created with EZBoards, and attracted mainly readers of RD's WrestleCrap website. The sections of this board were as follows

- Wrestlecrap

This section of the board was where members could comment on the actual WrestleCrap site itself. Suggestions, comments, and requests for future inductions were to be posted here. Can be found on the current board too.

- Wrestlecrap presents: Earthquake John Tenta

This section, where members could interact with John Tenta, who portrayed the characters of Earthquake, Avalanche, Shark, and Golga while in WWF/WWE and WCW, would also carry over to the second board. Mr. Tenta was very accomodating, welcoming questions from his many fans which he would answer to the best of his ability. This came about after a friendship between RD Reynolds and John Tenta was established, as John actually agreed to be interviewed about the "Crappy" personas and storylines he took part in over the years. RD was said to have originally been apprehensive about the interview in fear of offending Mr. Tenta, but John displayed a great sense of humor about his past gimmicks and the two became friends. John Tenta would even go on to write the introduction to RD's WrestleCrap book.

- RD Reynolds speaks!

This section was designated as the place to ask questions direct to RD himself, and a place where he could speak his mind and make announcements. Has become "Ask RD" on the new WrestleCrap forums.

- WWE - current

This is where any discussion about the current WWE product (Generally events taking place in the past six or so years) would go. This would prove to be one of the more visited sections of the board, given the fluctuating quality of WWE programming in the last several years, the posters had much to debate and discuss. This section, too, exists on the current boards.

- Professional Wrestling

This section of the board was for discussing WCW, ECW, and various independant wrestling promotions, as well as older WWF/WWE topics. This section exists on the current boards under the new name "The (w)rest of wrestling".

- Off Topic Discussions

This section was for, as implied by the name, discussion of any topic not directly related to professional wrestling (as long as it did not violate the rules). Music, movies, and video games proved to be popular discussion topics. Section still exists (Now as "Off Topic Discussion") on the current forums.

- Ask The Meanie!

As well as John Tenta, popular former ECW/WWE star The Blue Meanie would frequent the boards from time to time. Meanie welcomed discussion on his wrestling career, as well as talking about other things of interest to him such as music and video games. As mentioned in the section's description on the board "WARNING: This forum will have looser restrictions than the rest. Rough language and teabagging may occur." This section does NOT exist at the current WrestleCrap Boards as Meanie no longer had time to post at the site and ceased responding to questions.

- Rules

The rules of the site were described here. This section was generally only for moderators to post in, not regular members. The original rules are one of the few surviving "posts" from the first board and are repeated here:

" Okay, folks, here's the pure and simple on the rules of the house:

NO FLAMING NO SPAMMING NO PORN

No political or religious discussions, please. I’m sorry we have to do this one, but these types of threads never end good.

Keep the language to a mild PG-13 level. Also, please DO NOT TYPE AROUND the filter. If we have a word banned, there’s a reason. Don’t add a * or a ! in the middle of it to get around the filter. We will just edit your post and take out the word.

Also, on that note, please refrain from using the term “Nipp|e H”*. If it were once or twice on the entire board, I wouldn’t mind, but when it shows up 8 times in one post, I find it excessive. For now, the term is not allowed through the filter, please do not type “around” it.

Please do not have mile-long signatures. Anything over four or five lines is probably too much. Also, if you have a photo in your sig, make sure it is small enough that it doesn’t cause the screen to “scroll”. If either of these are disregarded, we will ask you to change them.

Be somewhat respectful to the workers that we discuss. Don’t go over the top in making fun of someone, or their demons.

The end.

Thank you."

(* "Nipple H" is a reference to Stephanie McMahon, the breast-augmented daughter of WWE owner Vince McMahon and husband of WWE superstar Triple H)

[edit] Switch To Proboards

The EZBoards site progressively became a problem for several members. The boards were found to contain spyware, pop-ups, adware, and viruses. Computer crashes were reported. Advertisements began to show up between member's posts. It was decided that the board would be moved to proboards instead. The board went "live" on March 3, 2005, however some accounts were registered and activated in February. The EZBoards Wrestlecrap Board is still accessable, however most of the content has been lost and no new accounts should be registered at this location.

[edit] The Official WrestleCrap Forums - Proboards

The following sections are available on the current boards

- Rules

Again, these are the rules of the board. There are several more rules and sub-sections of rules than at the EZBoards site, so they will not be reposted here. Among the rules are showing a proper amount of respect for wrestlers (Not wishing injury or death upon someone just because you are not a fan)and restrictions on illegal activities (Tape trading, live streams of PPVs, and filesharing are generally not to be discussed openly due to consequences the board could face). Often times members will complain about the language rules, specifically the "filters", where certain sexual, racial, or swear words become other words such as "luv" (for the profane "F-word"). Detractors complain that stronger language is used on the actual WrestleCrap site, and on WWE itself, than what can be used on the boards. However, the boards are not ran by RD, and they are hosted on proboards, again, not by RD or any private party, so there are a seperate set of rules which apply. (Proboards terms of service)

- Wrestlecrap

Similar to the first board, this section is for any discussion about the actual WrestleCrap website, but can also expand to events in professional wrestling that the members find particularly "crappy" that haven't been inducted by RD Reynolds into his site as of yet. At times it also becomes a general wrestling forum, as topics that are perhaps too broad to fit elsewhere, such as "tournaments" pitting wrestlers against one another (winners being determined by member votes) from different periods of wrestling history.

- Ask R.D!

This is now the place to speak directly to RD Reynolds. While his busy schedule prevents him from posting in the other sections, he still responds to messages here when possible.

- The Official John Tenta Forum

Carried over from the original board, this was the place where members could interact with John "Earthquake" Tenta. Hundreds of questions were asked here, and John did his best to reply to all of them. His charming, approachable personality won over everyone who "spoke" with him, and he occasionally posted in other sections as well. Sadly, the last year of John's life saw a reduction in his posting due to his illness and understandable desire to spend more time with his family and offline friends. After fighting a courageous battle with bladder cancer, John Tenta passed away on June 7th, 2006, at the age of 42. A message was posted on the forum and the community went into mourning for the man they affectionally called "Quake". His forum became an ongoing memorial for fans to express their sympathy for the Tenta family and to share their favorite John Tenta memories. A memorial fund was started by RD Reynolds to help out the Tenta family, and the "Crappers" banded together to donate an undisclosed sum of money. Many of the posters at the site were truly saddened by the loss of Mr. Tenta, as several people who never "met" him face to face considered him a true friend. John Tenta seemed to feel the same, as evidenced by his reply when he was asked how he'd like to be remembered, which will be quoted here:

I'd like to be remembered as a pretty good heel, that played my role well, and put all I had into the role even if it sucked. Those of you that have gotten to know me a bit more than the average fan through my postings, here, hopefully will feel although I'm faced with a big crisis, that I've been brave, and inspirational to some, and hopefully appreciate my warped sense of humor from time to time. Although my illness is serious, I still love a good laugh, which bless you all, keep me laughing. I want to be remembered by you 'Crappers as a friend. 'Quake

- WWE - Current

This board is for discussion of current and recent (1996 and anything thereafter) discussion of WWF/WWE, and has grown to also include recent ECW and occasional WCW discussion (ECW and WCW now being owned by WWE's Vince McMahon) This discussion includes recent results and shows, news such as hirings and firings, polls and tournaments and more. Upcoming pay-per-views, video games, and other major developments might get their own pinned/stickied topic, which stays up at the top of the page to discourage duplicate topics.

- The (w)rest of Wrestling

Here one will find topics and discussion related to current and past "indy" wrestling shows and wrestlers, ROH and TNA, older WWF/WCW/ECW topics, Japanese and Mexican wrestling and more. Similar to the WWE section in content, just with different subject matter.

- Off Topic Discussion

This popular section allows discussion of anything from comic book character tournaments to "boobs threads" which pop up every so often (Members post pictures of women's breasts so long as the nipples are covered. It's anyone's guess how long these threads will last, as nipples always find a way of showing up, usually by a newer poster who may not take the rules seriously). Movies, video games, and non-wrestling sports are also popular topics of discussion, as are threads dealing with some of the more prominant members' personal lives/stories.

- EWT: The Official WrestleCrap E-Fed

This section is where members can go to enter into a roleplay (or simply RP) wrestling federation, where created wrestlers can "battle" one another in written, fictional cards.

[edit] Moderators

Moderators are staff members who 'keep the peace' between members and enforce the rules. Violations are fewer and far between than other forums, as the atmosphere at WrestleCrap is generally a friendly one. The current 'roster' of moderators is as follows:

Deus Ex Machina - Administrator (Madison Carter has since stepped down as admin)

DiBiaseIsGood - Also known as DiG

Toomiguci

JackrabbitSlim

Dancin' Stevie Richards - DSR

The Golden Spike

KashFlagg

Karisma

V for Vertigo

Shacmasta

Chyno

Dorf

Sudden Rush

HitmanDX

HitmanMark

[edit] Board Factions

Several board factions have popped up on the forums (A faction or stable is a group of wrestlers all allied with one another such as the nWo or the Heenan Family) although few last long. Among these groups have been...

The Inklings: A very popular group of animation and cartoon enthusiasts. Created by a board member known as "Animaniac" (or, since then, Ani) this group was open for anyone who "marked for animation" to join. During its time as a faction, members were known to create cartoon-inspired user names and signatures (Most created by board member erisi236). Eventually, due to the fact that they were restricted to one thread in the Off Topic forum, members voted to "seperate" from the main WrestleCrap board and create their own forum, although most still remained on the WrestleCrap board as well. The faction members included:

The Animaniac

Erisi236

Merc

TM Punk

Godz

The Zombie World Order: The zWo came about after the debut of "The Zombie" on Sci Fi's ECW program. (The Sandman caned and defeated a man playing a zombie character)

The nBo

The Cidal Squad

DeGeneration Godz: While the WWE was hinting at a DX reunion, D-G was created on the WrestleCrap forums. It consisted of an "alligence" of two posters from the Atlanta area, Godz (Temporarily renaming himself "Heartbreak Godz") and Leatherface, who then became "Leather H" in a parody of The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels and Triple H, the WWE's DX. The two delighted in disrupting conversations usually with sexual content and innuendo, much like the original DeGeneration X, and grew to include two other members in TMiz and TM Punk before they quietly dissolved.

[edit] Board Fads

Numorous fads, treds, and inside jokes have taken place on the WrestleCrap boards, and some of those will be detailed here.

Dennis Stamp: Most well known, and perhaps only known, by being featured in the wrestling documentary Beyond the Mat, Dennis Stamp. Stamp was a largely unknown wrestler who achieved moderate success thanks to the kind booking of the Funk family in the past, and is shown in Beyond the Mat as an aging, out of shape man who jumps on his backyard trampoline in his underwear to attempt to stay in shape for the call that may come for him to wrestle another match. The joke comes from the conversation he had with Terry Funk about attending a wrestling card that was at the time thought to contain Funk's retirement match (In truth Terry Funk has "retired" several times). Stamp was upset with Terry about "not being booked" on the show, and therefore refused to come. Terry was hurt and asked Dennis to come anyway, but Stamp insisted he had other plans. Stamp relented however when Funk offered to let him referee his match. The "comedy" comes from numorous jokes about "not being booked" for various things, as well as the trampoline segment of Beyond the Mat.

The Iron Shiek: Former WWF world and tag team champion The Iron Shiek was a large source of comedy as well. In 2006, footage surfaced on the internet of a possibly intoxicated Shiek giving a "shoot" interview for a Mr. Dan Maradi (Repeatedly called "Mr. Maloney" by the Shiek, just one of his several flubs on this shoot). Shiek responds to most of his questions by telling "Dan Maloney" that he is a very intelligent man and that his question is very excellent, but Shiek will then become unexplainably agitated and at times gets quite belligerant.

Highlights of the interview include Shiek frequently confusing Michael Jordon with Michael Jackson (When he wants to insinuate someone is a homosexual, he states they are "Worse than Michael Jordon" when he means to say Jackson), refering to the legendary Hulk Hogan as "A hollywood blonde jabroni faggot" because he is angry that Hulk didn't call him on the telephone, apparently. He also became quite angry with former tag team partner Nikolai Volkoff for refusing to give the Shiek two dollars because "he was a cheap jew". When the interviewer told Shiek that maybe Nikolai didn't have $2, Shiek became very loud, insisting that he saw the $2 and claimed the interviewer was talking Volkoff's side. Shiek went back and forth from breaking and upholding kayfabe, and got visably angry when the interviewer spoke about the planned elements of wrestling.

However the most "quoted" part of the interview on the WrestleCrap forums comes from the Shiek's mostly unexplained hatred of former WWF star Brian Blair. Shiek repeatedly tells him "You was lucky" and credits Hacksaw Jim Duggan's intervention, saying that if not for him, if he had his way he would "suplex him (Blair), put him in the Camel Clutch, break his back, and then f**k his ass and make him humble like in the old country."

Lex Luger: Another source of seemingly endless humor for the boards came from a Lex Luger promo that found its way onto the internet. During the promo, Luger quickly becomes frustrated at his attempts to speak clearly, flubbing the word "dispicable" several times as well as forgetting the name of the show's promoter, refering to him as "Billy Whatshisname". He also forgets the name of the show, Superbrawl Saturday, and wonders out loud if "Billy Whatshisname" can pay him enough to wrestle Ron Killings on the show, before screaming loudly "I DON'T KNOOOOOOOOOW!" which became a HEAVILY used joke/catch phrase on the boards. Luger also struggles with removing his t-shirt during the promo, complaining that it is too tight, before running into a locked door after he is done with his lines, which also gave him some degree of trouble.

Gene Snitsky: When the WWE introduced the character of Gene Snitsky as a foil to Kane, most fans were bored with him as they saw him as another generic WWE big man. Some fans on WrestleCrap, however, either liked him or pretended to like him, for his looks and humorous baby hating promos and a "Snitskymania" was started. Snitsky's face was photoshopped over everyone from Chyna to Hulk Hogan. This craze still somewhat exists today, as "SNITSKY!" is a popular joke answer on several user-created polls. The most glaring example of this is the fact that Gene Snitsky defeated ALL of the current WWE and ECW divas in a poll asking the readers who they believed the next WWE personality to appear nude in Playboy magazine would be.

El Dandy, Hypnosis, and Bret Hart: Yet another instance of a silly promo most likely forgotten by regular wrestling fans inciting a phenominon. While in WCW, Bret Hart gave an interview with Gene Okerlund where he spoke on the WCW cruiserweight division. He called the luchadore Psicosis by the wrong name of "Hypnosis" and when he praised the skills of lower-card portly mexican wrestler El Dandy, Gene Okerlund seemed skeptical, which prompted Bret to reply "Who are you to doubt El Dandy?!" which became a popular catch phrase as well. El Dandy also attained a bit of a following for the rumors of him sleeping with current WWE diva Lita while she trained in Mexico.

The Conway Pop: 'Crappers have dubbed a non-existant crowd response a "Conway Pop". This is based off of the "reaction", or lack thereof, that Rob Conway would recieve while making his ring entrance. Although a heel, the fans did not even care enough about him to boo him. This is perhaps the polar opposite of "X-Pac Heat", which refers to the negative crowd response Sean Waltman would get towards the end of his WWE career, not because he was playing a good heel, but because the fans geniunely did not care to see him.

"Starwang": In early Summer 2006, a new poster by the name of starwolf made her debut on the forums. Several of the male posters quickly started to pay a great deal of attention to her, due to her professed love of wrestling and video games, and due to the pictures she posted of herself showing an attractive blonde girl posing suggestively with a bared stomach. However, due to moderators comparing IP addresses, it was revealed that "she" was actually just an alternate account of an existing male member, who will not be named here due to a possible health issue he was supposedly suffering from during starwolf's posting which was said to keep him away from the boards. After this discovery, WrestleCrap poster Godz refered to him/her as "starwang" and the name stuck. Neither the original poster or his female alter ego have been heard from since
