From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Grand Duke Sergei Mikhailovich of Russia (7 October 1869-18 July 1918) was the fifth son of Grand Duke Michael Nikolayevich of Russia and his wife, Cecily, Princess of Baden (Olga Feodorovna), a daughter of Leopold, Grand Duke of Baden.
A near contemporary of the future Nicholas II, Serge succeeded his cousin as lover of the ballerina Mathilde Kschessinska, and it was either he or another cousin, Grand Duke Andrew Vladimirovich who was the father of her son Prince Vladimir Krasinsky.
He was murdered by the Bolsheviks along with several other members of the Imperial Family at Alapayevsk on July 18, 1918, shortly after the murder of Nicholas II and his immediate family at Yekaterinburg.
