Are you sure this is west of Albuquerque? I've been on I-40 all the way from Oklahoma City to Barstow and this looks like the at-grade crossings I saw west of Amarillo in Texas. It also looks like Texas, not New Mexico. Rt66lt 00:17, August 29, 2005 (UTC)
After writing this I saw in underneath in the history that this was east of Albuquerque. I'm going to make the change on the caption on the picture for At-Grade Crossings. It will say "West of Amarillo" because this is a better description. If you object, please change. Rt66lt 00:19, August 29, 2005 (UTC)

I have brought the matter up to the Texas and New Mexico Departments of Transportation to settle the matter. I have added the possiblity of it being in Western Texas to the caption. I would say the website above is in error. Looking at other comments on the page, another person states there are at-grade intersections in Texas. So this matter is not settled by this webpage.Rt66lt 21:43, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
- I assumed that User:Alanhwiki, Alan Hamilton of [2] and alanh of http://www.arizonaroads.com/us70/907p.html (see email address at http://www.arizonaroads.com/) are the same, and believed him in good faith when he said he took the photo to the west of Albuquerque. -- Paddu 08:31, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
[3] has Alan H and someone else talking about the ones marked as temporary. Given the description, I'd say it was probably this one. Interestingly, if you go further east on topos, you can see that the divided US 66 became I-40 westbound and the north frontage road, with a new eastbound roadway and south frontage road added, but in this area no frontage roads exist. --SPUI (talk - don't use sorted stub templates!) 22:58, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
Yes, I'm the owner of ArizonaRoads.com. I'm really, really sure this is in western Albuquerque. The pictures on the return from my US 70 trip are in the order I took them. I have a picture of a Texas intersection here [4]. -- Alanhwiki 05:25, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
- FWIW here's a photo of a "driveway entrances next 5 miles" sign, (allegedly, I must say ;^)) between Albuquerque and the Arizona state line -- [5] from [6]. I specifically stopped to take pictures of the grade intersections in both Texas and New Mexico. There are intersections in the west panhandle of Texas, as well as west of Albuquerque. I've taken photos of both [7] but this particuar photo is positively west of Albuquerque. It is in the same area as Paddu linked above. -- Alanhwiki 05:19, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
