[edit] The Show
Grumpy Old Women is a British television series, continuing in the same irascible vein as its predecessor, Grumpy Old Men. Both programmes are shown on BBC Two. It is narrated by Alison Steadman. The show started as a special one-off Christmas special; however, because of its popularity, it spawned a regular series, a book (see below) and stage show.
The Grumpy Old Women are more than ready to tell you about the things that annoy them - and what doesn't? Whether they're talking about their own children and husbands, inconsiderate shop assistants or drunken louts, these forthright women complain about every little thing that gets them riled up, in a humorous and thought-provoking manner.
The featured grumpies include Jilly Cooper, Jenny Eclair, Kathryn Flett, India Knight, Helen Lederer, Linda Robson, Jenni Trent Hughes, Jane Moore, Bonnie Greer, Germaine Greer, Sheila Hancock, Nina Myskow, Janet Street-Porter, Arabella Weir, and Ann Widdecombe. The second series also included Esther Rantzen, Muriel Gray, Pam St Clement, Indira Joshi, Kim Woodburn and Aggie MacKenzie. and Margaret Fitzgerald
