History
Dear Chaipau
Frstly..regards to u fr ur great interest to bring Assam n its reletd topics to the wrld through wiki.
I would like to discuss few small things in the history parts...
1. I am nt aware of tht if the kingdm founded by Biswa X., Noronarayon n Cilarai was known as Koch-Hajo (if u can tell me the source)..i blvd Koch Hajo only as a part of Koch Kngdm....I knew the kingdm's extent frm Koch Bihar of present N Bengal to Kamrup dist (south bnk) and Darang dist (in the nrth bank of Brahmaputra)....Gohain Komol Aali is the best example of their infrastructure dev. initiatives within the kingdm...
2. Mughals could only succeeded in capturin the western part of the koch kingdom (almost permanently) i.e. the modern N Bengal areas...the othr part in the east was initially an Ahom Protectorate under a Koch king known as Dorongeeya Roja....(i rmbr thr wr two brthrs-sons of Cilarai?..)
3. Many a times Mughals could penetrate upto Guwahati, but the real boundary still fluctuated between Kortoya in N Bengal to Manah n Bornody......for few years they could succeed in takin ghy n estblshd outpost thr undr a subedar or 'whatever'.....they wll dfntly hv to hv someone in their occupied country to keep their control...
4. Koch kingdm is considered as a big part of our history (particularly one can c Koch as the revival of the ancient Kamrupa or Kamatapur)-- as the same with Ahom Kingdm (the strongest of all in our medieval history)...on the othr hnd Mughals wr considered as Bongals (the foreigners...refer Boga-Bongal - Europeans)...every local ethno-cultural group n local political entities were united against thm n resistin ...which even ultimately helped in developin Assamese society...so their outposts in ghy cant be similarly expressed or accepted as a part of our glorious history n cant be seen at the same tune to tht of our Borphukan's.
so my idea is clear ....our koch kngdm, our ahom kingdm but the invadin mughals r bongals....history is nt just a picture of past...but its somehw or othr a continuity...based on wat a nation grows up...progresses..wat do u think? -- i think its directly related to the zeal tht u hv to write abt assam n assamese society...i donno if its little long....he he he! didnt hv much wrk in the office...

Copied n pasted the following text frm Geography to History..lets c if we can develop it thr..
"The Nilachal hill within the city is said to be the home of the goddess Kamakhya, a shakti temple. In the past, this was an important seat of tantric and Vajrayana Buddhism. It is said that the King Narkasur was asked to build a way from bottom to the top of the hill in one night. To the north, on top of Chitrachal Hill, is the Navagraha (nine planets) temple, a unique astrological temple. To the south of the city lie the Narakasur hills, named after a legendary king of ancient Assam."
