H. Patrick Swygert is president of Howard University in Washington, DC (1995-Present). Formerly president of the State University of New York at Albany, he previously served as executive vice president of Temple University (where he was also a professor of law in the Temple University School of Law). Swygert, a graduate of Howard University Law School, is a professor of law. He is a member of the Commission on Presidential Elections and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
